Vintage signature and inscription, “To Joe -/Cordially/Cora Witherspoon,” in blue fountain pen on a pale green album page, about 5.6 x 4.3.  Very fine condition, with a slightly ragged left edge where the page was removed from an album book.  A notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in March 1942.  Memorable character actress Cora Witherspoon appeared in nearly 50 films, usually cast as a snooty society matron or sharp-tongued busybody, and is perhaps best remembered as W. C. Fields’s impossible wife in The Bank Dick (1940).
