ANNE JEFFREYS. Vintage 1944 glossy black and white chest-up costume portrait by Ernest Bachrach, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint ink, “To Harold -/from – Anne Jeffreys.” Fine condition, with mild bends to the corner tips and scattered mild dings and surface impressions, almost completely invisible when the photograph is viewed head on. The writing is uniformly stronger on the actual photograph than it appears in the accompanying scan. The fetching actress is probably best remembered for role on the 1950s television series “Topper, ” playing Marion Kirby, “the ghostess with the mostest, ” opposite her husband, Robert Sterling.
