An immediate success following her very first screen appearance in 1911, Anna Q. Nilsson remained one of Hollywood’s most popular leading ladies throughout the silent era. Retiring from the screen with the advent of sound, she returned to acting in 1933 as a bit player, continuing to appear in small, frequently uncredited, roles for another two decades.
