One-of-a-kind vintage 10×8 matte finish black and white publicity portrait of director Frank Borzage on the set with co-stars Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, signed to the bottom border in black fountain pen by Gaynor and Farrell, and in blue fountain pen by Borzage, with an inscription to a Fox executive added in a secretarial hand. Fine condition, with small corner bends. 7th Heaven (1927) was the first cinematic pairing of janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, who went on to become one of Hollywood’s most popular acting teams. They were paired again the following year in Street Angel, also under Borzage’s direction, and continued to appear in additional films through the early 1930s. Both Gaynor and Borzage won Oscars at the first Academy Award ceremony for their work.
