Warren William
WARREN WILLIAM. Emblematic vintage 1936 8x10 glossy black and white Paramount Pictures publicity portrait, boldly signed with his name alone in blue fountain pen. Very fine condition, with the somewhat hasty signature partially penned against the dark fabric of his suit jacket, but quite readable. At his peak in the pre-Code years of the early 1930s, Warren William excelled at playing slick, amoral cads. From the mid-thirties until his death in 1948, he was cast mainly in "B" films, frequently playing such screen sleuths as Philo Vance, Perry Mason, Ted Shayne, and Michael Lanyard, a/k/a/ The Lone Wolf.
