Walter Connolly
WALTER CONNOLLY. Vintage 8x10 matte finish sepia tone chest-up portrait, boldly inscribed in black fountain pen, "To Bluma -/from/Old New York/Sincerely/Walter Connolly." Near very fine condition, with a barelly visible diagonal bend in the bottom left corner, just glancing the background. Veteran character actor Walter Connolly appeared in nearly 50 films before his premature death in 1940, generally cast as apoplectic newspaper editors, officials, or fathers-in-law, reliably providing big laughs in some of the finest comedies of the 1930s, including It Happened One Night and Twentieth Century (both 1934).
