Veteran character actor Walter Connolly appeared in nearly 50 films before his premature death in 1940, generally cast as apoplectic newspaper editors, officials, or fathers-in-law, reliably providing big laughs in some of the finest comedies of the 1930s, including It Happened One Night and Twentieth Century (both 1934).
