ROD LA ROCQUE. Vintage 10.5 x 13.5 satin finish sepia tone half-length portrait by Chidnoff, circa 1930, boldly inscribed in black fountain pen, "For/John Horgan -/with all/good wishes/always/Rod La Rocque.". Fine condition, with trimmed borders and faint bends in the top right quadrant, not substantially detracting from the overall appearance of the image. Rod La Rocque had a moniker just made for the silent screen, and became one of the top leading men of the 1920s following his appearance in Cecil B. deMille's The Ten Commandments (1923).
