RAY DANTON. Definitive 8x10 glossy black and white chest-up publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "To John/Ray Danton." Fine condition, with light bends to the top corner tips; very slight ink spreading to the first letter of his signature; and evidence of ink adhesion difficulties to the last three letters of his surname, which Danton then retraced. Screen and television actor Ray Danton was most often cast as a smooth but treacherous villain, epitomized by his performance in his best-remembered film, The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond (1960).
