Dramatic vintage 3.5 x 5.5 glossy black and white half-length glamour portrait of the British beauty, circa 1932, boldly signed in black fountain pen, "Best wishes/Madeleine Carroll." Very fine condition. Carroll starred in such films as The 39 Steps (1935) and The Prisoner of Zenda (1937). Still at the height of her popularity, she interrupted her career following the death of her sister during the London blitz, only making sporadic film and television appearances after the conclusion of World War II.
