Lionel Stander
LIONEL STANDER. Vintage 5x7 matte finish sepia tone half-length portrait of the gravel-voiced wiseguy, circa 1938, boldly inscribed in black fountain pen, "For Joanna Murphy/Sincerely yours/Lionel Stander." Very fine condition. After being blacklisted in Hollywood due to his membership in the Communist Party, Stander sold out to capitalism and worked on Wall Street before returning to the screen in the 1960s. He appeared for five seasons as Max on "Hart to Hart," a television series he described as "helping lobotomize the world." Vintage signed photographs are unaccountably scarce.
