KEEFE BRASSELLE. Vintage 6.25x8 black and white glossy bust portrait, boldly inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To/Peter/Best always/Keefe Brasselle." Inexplicably trimmed from its original 8x10 size; otherwise fine condition. Rising from bit parts to more substantial roles in the late 1940s, this amiable actor's career peaked, sadly, with the forgettable The Eddie Cantor Story (1953). He later worked as an executive at CBS, tried his hand at writing and producing, and died at age 58 of cirrhosis of the liver. Uncommon in signed photographs.
