JOAN FONTAINE. Exquisite vintage 8x10 matte finish sepia tone chest-up glamour portrait, circa 1940, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "To Johnny/from/Joan Fontaine." Fine condition, with an area of faint soiling in the background at the right, and a mild vertical bend running the length of the photo at the right, virtually invisible when the image is viewed head on and mentioned only for the purposes of accuracy. Vintage signed photographs of Fontaine are surprisingly scarce.
