J. FARRELL MacDONALD. Vintage 7.5 x 9.5 matte finish sepia tone full-length portrait by Witzel, circa 1925, boldly signed in blue fountain pen ink, "Best wishes/J. Farrell MacDonald." Fine condition, with a bend to the top right corner tip and slight paper loss to the bottom right corner tip. A John Ford favorite, J. Farrell MacDonald was one of the most prolific character actors in Hollywood history, appearing in over 300 films (23 in the year 1932 alone) in a career that spanned four decades, beginning in 1911. Remarkably, signed photographs are fairly scarce.
