HELEN BRODERICK. Vintage 5x7 matte finish bust portrait, circa 1932, boldly inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To/Myrtle Horn/With Best Wishes/Helen Broderick." Fine condition, with some of the blue ink having inexpicably turned brown. A celebrated, sophisticated Broadway comedienne of the 1920s, Broderick played wisecracking character roles in over two dozen films of the 1930s and '40s, most notably in the Astaire/Rogers classics, Top Hat (1935) and Swing Time (1936). Signed photographs are rather uncommon.
