H. B. WARNER. Vintage 8x10 matte finish sepia tone half-length portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "Mary Jane Stanton/Wth all good wishes/H. B. Warner/Now I hope you/are 'very happy!'" Very good condition, with a faint diagonal bend above his left sleeve; noticeable creasing in the top right corner, slightly impacting the background; and another noticeable bend in the background, running from the blinds to the bowl of his pipe, somewhat detracting from the overall appearance of the image. The veteran character actor played Jesus in the 1927 version of King of Kings and appeared in over 125 additional films, including five for Frank Capra, winning an Oscar nomination for his performance in Lost Horizon (1937).
