Hardie Albright
HARDIE ALBRIGHT. Scarce vintage 8x10 double-weight satin finish silver tone chest-up publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To/Nina/not/Columbus'/Nina/but/mine/Hardie/Albright." Fine condition, with a small stain in the bottom border and a tiny bit of paper loss to the bottom left corner tip. Hardie Albright appeared in more than fifty films between 1931-1946. At his peak in the early 1930s, the rather wimpy leading man appeared in major roles opposite such leading ladies as Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck and Kay Francis, but was increasingly relegated to smaller roles as the years wore on. In 1942, he provided the voice of Bambi in Disney's animated classic. Signed photographs are extremely uncommon.
