GEORGE E. STONE. Dapper vintage 8x10 glossy black and white chest-up publicity portrait, circa 1935, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "To Ed/Geo. E. Stone."." Fine condition, with very slight ink brushing to his surname and scattered mild handling bends, primarily to the borders, not substantially detracting from the overall appearance of the image. The prolific character actor appeared in over 150 films during a three-decade career, invariably cast as a petty hood or shifty little weasel. His appearances ranged from Little Caesar (1931) to Some Like It Hot (1959), and included a running appearance opposite Chester Morris in the 1940s Boston Blackie series.
