FAY BAINTER. Vintage 7.75 x 10 glossy black and white chest-up publicity portrait, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To Mr. Stumpf/Sincerely/Fay Bainter." Fine condition, with scattered light handling bends and dings, not substantially detracting from overall appearance, and her signature penned against the dark fabric of her jacket, although perfectly readable. In 1938, Fay Bainter became the first actress to win Oscar nominations as both Best Actress (for White Banners) and Best Suporting Actress (for Jezebel), ultimately winning for the latter. Signed photographs are relatively uncommon.
