EVELYN BRENT. Vintage 8x10 matte finish silver tone bust glamour profile portrait of the silent screen sexpot, circa 1929, boldly inscribed in black fountain pen, "To Arthur W. Howard/Sincerely/Evelyn Brent." Near very fine condition, with two pinholes in the borders and a small bend to the bottom left corner tip. The sexy, hard-boiled leading lady of the silent screen seemed to become practically inert in front of the microphone, and her career quickly slid after 1930, although she soldiered on in films, in increasingly unrewarding roles, until her retirement in 1948. Signed photographs are relatively uncommon.
