Donald MacBride
DONALD MacBRIDE. Vintage 8x10 glossy black and white chest-up publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To Edward J. Barry/My very best!/Donald MacBride." Very fine condition. Character actor Donald MacBride appeared in numerous shorts during the early years of the silent era, then turned to the stage for a decade before returning to Hollywood in 1930. For most of the decade he appeared only in bit parts, but by 1938 he was being cast in larger supporting roles and went on to build a solid career as a featured player, often appearing as wily policemen or detectives. This is the first signed photograph I have ever seen.
