Beautiful vintage 10.5 x 13.5 matte finish silver tone bust glamour portrait, circa 1931, boldly inscribed to her hair stylist, "For Helen -/with sincere affection and/a thousand thanks for taking/so many pains with my/'curls'!!/Claudette Colbert." Fine condition, with neatly trimmed borders and a very faint vertical bend that runs through the shadowy area of her neck with almost no visual impact on the overall appearance of the image. Uncommon this early. Helen Hunt, to whom the photograph is inscribed, was a Hollywood hair stylist for nearly four decades, working on literally hundreds of films.
