CHARLEY GRAPEWIN. Vintage 8x10 glossy black and white publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To/Jeanette/Elizabeth/Sincerely/Charley Grapewin." Fine condition, with two faint bends in the image at the bottom right, virtually invisible when the photograph is viewed head on. The prolific character actor appeared in over 100 films, usually cast as a lovable old codger, and is best remembered as Uncle Henry in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Along with Clara Blandick, he is the most difficult of the Oz stars to find in autographed material.
