CHARLES BUTTERWORTH. Vintage 8x10 glossy black and white chest-up portrait, circa 1936, boldly inscribed in black fountain pen, "To Joe/Charles Butterworth." Fine condition, with minor dings and handling bends that do not substantially detract from the overall appearance of the image. The dry, bumbling comic character actor appeared in 45 films before his death in a car crash in 1946. Signed photographs are relatively uncommon.
