CARL LAEMMLE, JR. Extremely scarce vintage 8-1/2 x 11-1/8 matte finish sepia tone chest-up portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in green fountain pen, "To Roy Hunter/All good wishes/from/Carl Laemmle Jr." Roy Hunter was the sound supervisor at Universal, overseeing such productions as Dracula and Frankenstein, etc. Fine condition, with the imaged neatly trimmed from what was likely an original 11x14 size. Placed in charge of production at Universal Pictures by studio founder Carl Laemmle, Sr., in 1928, Carl Laemmle, Jr., produced some of that studio's most prestigiuos films, including the classic horror canon that included Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein. However, his extravagent budgets and a string of flops brought Universal to the brink of bankruptcy, and in 1936 both Laemmles were forced to leave the studio.
