BETTY COMPSON. Vintage 6.75 x 9.25 matte finish sepia tone bust portrait, circa 1928, boldly inscribed in blue fountain pen ink, "To Jean/Sincerely yours/Betty Compson." Fine condition, with partially trimmed borders. This very popular and lovely leading lady of the silent screen won an (undeserved) Oscar nomination for her first talking film, The Barker (1928), and continued appearing in films until 1948, but increasingly in uncredited or bit roles.
