Bette Davis
BETTE DAVIS. Splendid vintage 8x10 glossy black and white three-quarter length publicity portrait of a very confident-looking Davis, circa 1943, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "For [indecipherable]/from/Bette Davis." Archivally double matted and framed to an overall size of 14.5 x 16.5. The photograph has not been examined outside of the frame, but the visible image is in very fine condition, with a few surface impressions that are completely invisible when viewed head on. The frame, for the record, is gorgeous, best appreciated in person. Always fairly scarce in authentically signed photographs from her years as Warner Bros. reigning female star, when her sister acted as her secretary and signed about 99% of autograph requests.
