ROGER MARIS. Glossy 3.5x5.5 color postcard depicting a November 1961 ceremony at which restauranteur Sam Gordon presented Maris with the baseball he hit for his record-breaking 61st home run in October 1961, which Gordon had purchased from the fan who caught it. Maris has inscribed the photograph in blue ballpoint ink, "To Jim/Best Always/Roger Maris." Very fine condition, with the writing showing up just a shade light against the brick background, but entirely readable and stronger on the actual photograph than it appears in the scanned image.
