JACK JOHNSON. Unique 9 x 7.75 glossy half-length portrait of Johnson standing next to fight promoter Harry Katz, inscribed in slightly faded black fountian pen, "To my Friend/Harry Katz from Former/Champion Jack Johnson." A date of March 26, 1936 in a different hand appears to the right of Johnson's signature. Silk matted and framed to an overall size of approximately 15 x 13.5. Not examined outside the frame, but the visible image is in fine condition, with a faint diagonal bend in Johnson's left lapel and another light vertical bend that goes about an inch into his forehead, detracting only marginally from overall appearance.
