MARIA CALLAS. Vintage 4x6 glossy Piccagliani portrait of Callas as Paolina, in Donizetti's Poliuto, boldly signed in black felt tip ink. Near very fine condition, with slight waviness along portions of the upper and lower edges and some moderate contrast to the first name of her signature where it is penned against the dark area of her gown. Poliuto, which opened the 1960-61 season at La Scala, would turn out to be the final new role sung by Callas onstage.
