Raymond Chandler
RAYMOND CHANDLER. Scarce TLS, 1 p., quarto, on onionskin, date stamp of March 27, 1946, stamped letterhead. A brief, indignant letter to a Professor Seward from the master of hard-boiled detective fiction. In full, "Some time ago, at your request, I sent you one of my books. I am wondering if you ever received it. It seems rather curious that you should not have acknowledged it, if it arrived. I don't know exactly why I am writing this note. It is not a matter of great consequence either way. I suppose I find the incident rather shocking." Fine condition, with expected mailing folds.
