Langston Hughes
LANGSTON HUGHES. African-American poet, novelist and playwright, a seminal voice of the Harlem Renaissance. Scarce handwritten copy of his poem, "Youth," penned in blue fountain pen on a 3x5 sheet. Hughes has signed the work and added, "inscribed especially for Mr. Arthur L. Howart, at Salt Lake, June 9, 1937." Fine condition, with three punch holes along the top of the page and two small areas of adhesive residue.
